Voice.ai was founded by serial entrepreneurs who have exited several companies and scaled consumer products to tens of millions of users in mobile, web, PC and SDKs.
The CEO, Heath Ahrens, is a pioneer in the AI space building the first cloud-based TTS engine used by Amazon, Google, and thousands of other developers. He had several top-grossing iOS apps earning 9 figures of revenue prior to achieving his breakthrough in real-time voice conversion using his proprietary AI models.
This breakthrough led to the launch of Voice.ai in November 2022, and quickly grew to become the leader in the space with 30,000 user-generated voices created by millions of users. The company quickly achieved break-even revenue and was eventually funded by top LA-based VCs Mucker Capital and M13. The $6MM seed round allows the company to scale its engineering efforts and is looking for its first Engineering Leader.
We are seeking a Vice President of Engineering to join as our first engineering leader. In this role you’ll have a unique opportunity to shape the company’s technical roadmap by designing and building our technology organization across different engineering departments. You will be up to speed on the latest developments in AI, voice technology, machine learning, and use this ability to innovate and keep the company cutting edge. You will oversee the architecture, development, and deployment of new applications while ensuring our tech stack is robust, scalable and secure.
Who we are looking for
A proven engineering leader with a track record of success in designing, building and scaling technology organizations
A hands-on and end-to-end leader with product build, development and delivery experience with a mix of customer interfaces (e.g web, mobile), languages and technologies
A thoughtful team player, collaborative decision maker, and engineering culture builder
Comfortable with ambiguity and excited to chart the course
Domain expertise in areas such as machine learning, audio processing, cloud computing
Hands-on experience managing a Machine Learning team
What you’ll be doing
Oversee and lead all technical aspects of the company; leading with a hands-on approach to building processes, playbooks, goals, and sets expectations with internal teams, corporate partners, investors
Ensure the teams are working in concert with clear priorities across multiple geographies and a well-articulated technology vision of future direction to support the company vision
Strategize the technological requirements in relation to architecture, scalability, and customer demands. You aim to simplify processes by eliminating any unnecessary complexities and ensuring smooth execution and progress towards goals
Work collaboratively with other executive team leaders across the company ensuring a culture of open communication & collaboration
Recruit, develop, and retain an exceptional Engineering team
Reduce technical debt
